Venezuela

VENEZUELA

Main contributions of principals as Gapv in Venezuela and prior to their incorporation as GAPV. 
Formulation and implementation of policies leading to the privatization of the oil and gas sectors in Venezuela, including the approval of four integrated projects of US$ 16 billion to produce synthetic crude from the bitumen of the Orinoco Belt and a round of 18 mature oil and gas fields that brought the Nation some US$2.2 billion in bidding bonuses. – Venezuela Ministry of Energy and Mines, Venezuela 1996 to 1998.

Feasibility and conceptual studies for the creation and start-up of Venezuela R&D facilities in 1974 thru 1984 Intevep, including the recruitment of all its managerial, professional, and technical personnel, as well as establishing cooperation agreements with other leading worldwide centers and Institutions for joint research programs.

Reactivation of more than a dozen mature oil and gas fields in Venezuela in the 1990s for Teikoku Oil Corporation, Venezuela, 1991-2013.

Analysis of basins in terms of the stratigraphic, structural, and geochemical framework to determine exploration opportunities in Western Venezuela. Hydrocarbons accumulations in the Cretaceous carried out in 1985 to 1988 for PDVSA.

 Identification of the main elements of the petroleum system of the Offshore Basins including risk analysis to determine the chance of geological success and to prioritize exploration opportunities for PDVSA 1985-2002.

Geological and Engineering Study to confirm the natural gas reserves, its production improvement and delivery to market of the Copa Macoya Field in Guarico State of Venezuela operated by Sucre Gas. 2021 to 2023.

Study of LNG export by barge from Guiria (Ven) to Point Lisas (TT) 2023


GUATEMALA

Geological, petrophysical and reservoir analysis of oil fields in Guatemala, plus modernization and training of the Ministry of Energy and Mines personnel. The organization and management of an international round for re-contracting a mature oil and gas field reverting to the country, including the addition of new exploration and development areas with an estimated value to the Nation of five billion dollars.  MEM Guatemala contract sponsored by the World Bank & UNDP, 2004-2006.


MEXICO

An integrated study for PEMEX’s  Samaria Field for the development of a heavy crude oil field and the study of an improved recovery process by steam injection technology. 2007-2008

Awarding in 2013, in a national contest run by CONICIT, the three year contract for an Improved Recovery Application Study, Design and Running of pilot tests for the Tampico Basin fields Ebano-Pánuco-Cacalilao.  2014 to 2017.

Participation in the FEL of the A.J. Bermudez Complex in Villahermosa. Including the petrophysical evaluation and the uncertainties and risks associated with the generation of feasible exploitation scenarios. 2008-2009

Petrophysical Study of the Cantarell Field plus 20 wells in the Cretaceous for Schlumberger and PEMEX in Mexico.

Petrophysical study of Campo Arenque of  25 wells including recommendation of repairs and new locations. Study for Corelab Company and PEMEX, Mexico.


PANAMA

An Integral Geological/Geophysical Evaluation of the Sedimentary Basins of Panama and Determination of the Hydrocarbon Potential. Sponsored by the Government of Panama and financed by the Andean Development Corporation (CAF); Panama 2011 to 2013.

An Advisory Contract for writing of a new petroleum and natural gas law and the writing of the Regulations and Accounting Annex of Law 8 and its Amendments. Ministry of Energy, Panama 2013.

A pre feasibility study for the building of a regasification terminal for imported LNG of a new power complex, AES Colon, Panama 2013.

Study and Design of the Process for the Generation and Injection of High Pressure Hot Flue Gases for the Exploitation of Heavy Crude Oil in the Parrylands Field in Trinidad and Tobago and the Orinoco Oil Belt. GAPV 2017 to 2018
